Destiny Calcified Fragment 5 ( V ) location

What are Calcified Fragments?

Calcified fragments are collectable items in Destiny Taken King. They are very similar to the collectable dead ghost from Vanilla Destiny. There are 50 Calcified fragments in total to be collected in The Taken King. Collecting Calcified fragments is part of a questline from Eris Morn and collecting your first fragment will activate this quest. The end of the quest requires you to collect 45 of the 50 Calcified fragments as well as completing other activates in order to obtain an Exotic Weapon called the Touch of Malice. The Touch of Malice is an Exotic Scout Rifle, quite unique to The Taken King expansion and definitely worth obtaining.

Each Calcified fragments has its own number and name and is tied to its respective Book of Sorrow. The book of sorrow is just lore pertaining to that particular Calcified fragment. Each Calcified Fragment is also worth a certain amount of Grimoire points ranging from 5 to 15.
Obtaining all 50 Calcified fragments is also one of the achievements for Year 2 Moments of Triumph in Destiny and will also unlock the Beltane Armor Shader.

Where are the Calcified fragments located?

Most of the Calcified fragments are located in the Dreadnaught. While some of the Calcified Fragments can be located while walking around on patrol, others require completing certain events or quests on the dreadnaught.

Where is Calcified Fragment V (5) located?

Ok, so how to find Calcified fragment number five on the Dreadnaught? Quite simply all you have to do for this one is head to the dreadnaught on patrol. Calcified Fragment 5 – Needle and Worm is located in the Mausoleum on the Dreadnaught, if you have no idea where that is, that’s ok I’ll explain.

Once you land on the Dreadnaught in Patrol head straight ahead through this crevice like path carved out. There will be some Cabal on the left shooting at some Hive on the right, who will probably be shooting back. Don’t waste time with any of them just continue through the path mostly straight ahead. You might have to walk around some debris once or twice but stick to the path that you would normally take to reach the area called the MAUSOLEUM.

Calcified Fragment 5 is actually located just BEFORE you reach the entrance to the Mausoleum.
After you pass the fighting Cabal and Hive knights, you would have to turn a corner to continue along the path you would normally take to get to the Mausoleum.

This is where you would stop and look to the left for some debris that resembles metal grates.Wedged in between one of these metal grates is Calcified Fragment 5.

You have to go closer to the grates practically standing on top of the debris while you look down for you to notice the Calcified Fragment stuck there. That’s it, again this is one of the easier fragments to obtain as it is in the open and behind a doorway or cave or secret platform.

If you do not see the fragment, either you are in the wrong area OR you have already gotten the Fragment with the character you are currently using. One way to check if you got the Fragment with your current character is by using Destiny Tracker.

If you were not able to follow the instructions above or for some reason got lost along the way, I have included a video below showing you exactly how to get to Calcified Fragment #5 starting from the Hullbreach/Patrol on the Dreadnaught.

I am still working on collecting all 50 fragments for one of my characters before Rise of Iron is released in order to try and complete the Year 2 Moments for Triumph achievement. I will post articles for the other Calcified Fragment locations as I progress through collecting them myself.

Ok, so how to find Calcified Fragment number four on the Dreadnaught? Quite simply all you have to do for this one is head to the dreadnaught on patrol. Calcified Fragment 4 – Syzygy is located in the Mausoleum on the Dreadnaught, if you have no idea where that is, that’s ok I’ll explain.

Once you land on the Dreadnaught in Patrol head straight ahead through this crevice like path carved out. Once you enter the Mausoleum then make a left immediately.

Once you have turned left there will be a broken/fallen pillar to your left a couple of steps ahead.

If you walk around this pillar towards the far LEFT side of the pillar you should be able get a glimpse of Calcified Fragment 4.

You might also need to jump over some debris to actually reach the fragment. That's it, Calcified Fragment 4 is one of the easier fragments to obtain on the Dreadnaught and is actually in the open and not in some room or cave or secret platform.

If you do not see the fragment, either you are in the wrong area OR you have already gotten the Fragment with the character you are currently using. One way to check if you got the Fragment with your current character is by using Destiny Tracker.

Once you enter this doorway you enter a room that seems to be a dead end, but is actually not. There will be a small opening on your left towards the bottom. Destiny Calcified Fragment 1 ( I ) location

Where is Calcified Fragment 1 (I) located?

Ok, so how to find Calcified fragment number one on the dreadnaught? Quite simply all you have to do for this one is head to the Dreadnaught on patrol. Calcified Fragment 1 – Predators is located in the Mausoleum on the Dreadnaught, if you have no idea where that is, that’s ok I’ll explain in detail below.

Once you land on the Dreadnaught in Patrol head straight ahead through this crevice like path carved out. There will be some Cabal on the left shooting at some Hive on the right, who will probably be shooting back. Don’t waste time with any of them just continue through the path mostly straight ahead.
Follow the path to the Mausoleum
You might have to walk around some debris once or twice but stick to the path and you will reach and area called the MAUSOLEUM.

Once you enter the Mausoleum turn right and then head straight down. Eventually you will see a doorway on your right, do NOT go through it but rather the steps on your left. Once you go up the steps to this platform it may seem like a dead end, but this is where you pull out your ghost and it’ll show you hidden ‘steps’ or platforms you can jump on to get to the other side.

Stick to the right side but don't enter the doorway
You want to get to the side on the right NOT the left. Keep that in mind as you are jumping across the hidden path. Once you get to the other side and jump on to the platform, stick to the right again and head towards the opposite end of the platform.

Open your ghost to see the hidden path
You will see a chest but look to the right of where the chest is and to the bottom a bit and you should see Calcified Fragment #1 there.

Fragment to the right of the chest
Calcified fragment 1 to the bottom right
If you do not see the fragment, either you are in the wrong area OR you have already gotten the Fragment with the character you are currently using. One way to check if you got the Fragment with your current character is by using Destiny Tracker.

PlayStation Plus price increasing

Sony has officially decided to increase its PlayStation Plus membership fees and this change will take place on September 22nd, 2016. Current users have little under a month left before the changes will be implemented. I guess this is both a good AND bad thing.

The bad news is obviously, that the PlayStation Plus prices have been increased.

How much will the PlayStation Plus membership prices be increased by?

The new membership prices will be increased by:

$10 increase for one year – From $49.99 to $59.99

$7 increase for three months – From $17.99 to $24.99

$0 increase for one month membership – Prices remain at $9.99

The prices mentioned above are in USD. Sadly things get even worse for Canadian gamers, as the PlayStation Plus prices have been increased EVEN more to reflect the difference in dollar value.

How much will the new PlayStation Plus membership prices increase in Canadian Dollars?

$20 CAD increase for one year – From $49.99 to $69.99

$12 CAD increase for three months – From $17.99 to $29.99

$2 CAD increase for one month – From $9.99 to $11.99

I don’t know about you guys but as a fellow Canadian this feels like a double Whammy. I completely understand the NEED to increase the prices due to growing network costs. But if you look at it per month, since I get my PlayStation Plus one year membership slightly discounted at $45 I pay around $3.75 a month. Even with a price increase of $59.99, if you could get them discounted at $55 that would be around $4.60 a month. This means that the price of PlayStation Plus had risen to little under a dollar.

This would be perfectly fine with me as the prices of PlayStation Plus membership had not reason in 5+ years since its release in 2010, at least in North America. The PlayStation Plus prices were previously increased in countries such as Russia and India in 2014 and more recently in the UK in 2015, so you could technically say that North America was due for a PlayStation price hike sometime soon.

The real problem arises for Canadians who have to pay $69.99 for the yearly PlayStation Plus membership. Even if you could get a yearly membership discounted at $65, the per month cost would be $5.41 which is only an increase of close to $2 (roughly $1.75) per month. One might even argue that even though it's almost double the increase compared to USD but it’s still not that much.

That $0.75 increase might not seem to be a big deal but it might just be the tipping point for some PlayStation users who are currently unhappy or on the fence with the PlayStation service. At those membership prices, a switch to XBOX seems even more enticing.

There was already growing complaints about the free games offered to PlayStation Plus monthly subscribers and how they were sub-par to Microsoft’s offerings. If Canadians are forced to pay $65 - $70 for PlayStation membership why not opt to switch to XBOX for a cheaper monthly price but also better bang for buck?

Which brings me to the all-important question of WHY? Why did Sony need to increase the prices but more importantly double the increase for Canadians? Were they really hard up for cash due to growing network costs? Are they increasing it so they can offer PlayStation Plus members better monthly game deals and more AAA titles? I think only Sony themselves can answer those questions
.
The slight good news in all of this is there is still about a month left and users can take advantage of this time to stock up on a few years’ worth of PlayStation Plus membership at current or even more discounted prices.

As I play online quite a bit, I better head off and try to find some PlayStation Plus deals. Let me know what you guys think of the price increase and also if you find some discounts as well :)

Bioshock The Collection Remastered Comparison Trailer

Bioshock, Bioshock 2 and Bioshock Infinite are some of my favorite games I have ever played as well as some of the best FPS-shooters ever made. Now that everyone knows where I stand on that, let me share my thoughts on Bioshock: The Collection Remastered.
For anyone who has never played any of the Bioshock games, this is absolutely worth the buy. Like I said they were some of the best games I ever played, in terms of gameplay, story, creativity and just over all uniqueness. This still holds true even with new gen consoles and games.

I think that the remastered version will look considerably better on consoles than on the PC. This is just a guess and my personal opinion. I think the PC versions look fine as it is, but that’s just me. The reason I believe the games will look and feel better on consoles is because I think the remastered version is just upgrading the resolution to 1080p and framerate to 60 fps.

Again, this is all fine for people playing the new gen consoles such as XBOX ONE and PS4, and if you are gaming on new gen consoles AND have never played any of the Bioshock games, all the MORE reason for you to get this Bioshock Collection.

For PC gamers however, I doubt people already using beastly rigs will even notice that much of a difference in the game, if any at all. So PC gamers will be happy to hear that the Bioshock: The Collection Remastered will be FREE for select PC gamers. Yes, that’s right I said FREE, no mistake there.

If you are cool like me and already own all three of the games Bioshock, Bioshock 2 and Bioshock Infinite on PC, the Bioschock The Collection Remastered will be free for such esteemed individuals and rightfully so. Like I keep mentioning I think the value of the collection is decreased for PC owners, especially those that already own and have played the games on above average PCs.
The people that will get the greatest value out of this collection are people who mostly play on the XBOX ONE or the PS4 and have never played the games before.

What does Bioshock The Collection Remastered Include?

The Collection includes the games Bioshock, Bioshock 2, and Bioshock Infinite as well as all single-player add-on content for all three games. The collection also includes bonus features such as Director’s Commentary: Imagining Bioshock and other such extras.

When will Bioshock The Collection Remastered be available?

Bioshock The Collection Remastered will be released on September 13th, 2016 in North America for XBOX ONE, PS4 and PC and September 16th, 2016 for the rest of the world. The Collection is already available for Pre-Order.

Bioshock: The Collection Remastered price will be $79.99 CAD or $59.99 USD and this might seem a bit steep especially for games that are 5-10 years old but they may be well worth the price for some people. If you have played the games before then you might want to wait till it goes on sale or you can get your copy at a discount. As for PC owners that own all three games, well like I mentioned, nothing to worry about as your copy will be free. If you are on the PC and own 2 of the 3 games then try getting the one you are missing as these days you can get those orignal games for almost nothing.

Let me know your thoughts on this Bioshock Remastered Collection and if you are going to get it.

BATMAN - The Telltale Series Trailer

Telltale Games is providing a new take on the Batman franchise. Much like their other games such as The Wolf Among US and The Walking Dead, their new Batman game is more point and click rather than free roam in an open world. I think the game will be more story-driven as compared to the Arkham series of Batman games which were more gameplay driven.

Again much like the other games featured by Telltale, games such as Borderlands, Batman will also utilise a similar cell shaded visual effect. While some people prefer the shiny new graphics of new-gen consoles, I’ve always been a fan of the unique art style that Borderlands had to offer and I think that this art style will translate especially well for the Batman game, adding a comic book effect to the story and gameplay.

The game also features the story and character of Bruce Wayne in much more depth along with the duality of the Dark Knight. I think focusing on not only the character of Batman but also that of Bruce Wayne is something that other Batman games have lacked in the past. There is usually somewhat an unbalanced lean towards the Dark Knight garnering much of the screen time and attention. Batman Telltale Series on the other hand will let players experience what it is like to also be Bruce Wayne the Billionaire as well as the caped crusader that is Batman.

Add to that the typical Telltale manner of choices the player has to make in the game, along with the consequences that go with those choices, is sure to add to the feel of actually BEING both Bruce Wayne and the Dark Knight. The choices for Bruce Wayne will also be much different than that of the Dark Knight. While Bruce Wayne might fret about whom he would like to back for a political campaign, Batman might be debating which tool from his utility belt would be best suited for the job.

The First Episode –“ Realm of Shadows” is already available for digital download since August 2nd, 2016.
The game is currently however only available for download on PC/Mac and Android/iOS devices. The game is set to contain a total for 5 Episodes. The Batman Telltale Series Season Pass, which will be available on September 13th, 2016, will give you access to all the Episodes 1-5. Episode 1 is already out like I mentioned, with Episodes 2-5 to come out soon. The Batman Telltale Series Season pass will also be available for both XBOX and PS3/PS4.
